One of the downsides of being an indie title is that more often than not, you can’t afford to have your game put on physical discs and distributed, and if you do, it’s likely costing you a pretty penny. Thus, loads of indie games are digital downloads only. For some, that’s fine, but others find unique and creative ways to get physical copies out there. For example, Furi has now been released in a limited edition pack for the PS4.
The catch? Well, they mean it when they say “limited edition” as this version will only be available for the first 5000 people who order it from Limited Run Games. As for what’s in this special limited edition, you’ll get the full game of Furi, the DLC for it in “One More Fight,” and the soundtrack to Furi, which is something you definitely will want for this title. But, if you just want the soundtrack, you can get that too separately.
If you’re wondering what Furi is, it’s a very special kind of indie game. You see, the game is all about the single player content, which is fine. However, they narrow it down to the extreme. Meaning, that the game focuses on the boss fights, and only that. There is a reasoning and a purpose to this. You’re a prisoner, put in jail for something you didn’t do, and now the only way to get free is to kill the jailers that stand in your way.
As you’ll progress, you’ll find out more about yourself and the world around you, but the real crux of Furi is the boss fights. These high intensity sword and gun battles will keep you on your toes. And these aren’t short fights, they’re long encounters that’ll put your skills and mastery of the mechanics to the test.
Oh, and as for the special edition? You may want to get it fast, there’s only 6% of the initial inventory left.
