Gears of War 4 is currently in the process of celebrating its first birthday, and it looks to continue to do so by adding two new maps in an update to be released on Monday, October 23rd.
Fuel Depot will be coming to Gears of War 4, bringing the map back to the franchise and a considerable absence, which is sure to provide plenty of nostalgia for fans. Meanwhile, Lift Apex “builds upon the spirit of the original by re-imagining the design of the map”, all without the present mechanics of a moving lift.
These maps will be available for season pass owners from Monday, October 23rd and will offer double XP and 20% bonus credits, before going live for everyone in Public Matchmaking on October 30th.
It’s worth noting that there will be no more Double XP and 20% Credit Bonuses, therefore the developers are introducing a new system known as the ‘Map Owned’ bonus. This will give a permanent percentage increase to XP and Credit gain whilst playing on them in either Public Versus or Horde. This bonus will apply to the 10 original map for those who own the game, whilst season pass owners will be treated to the bonus across all 34 maps in Gears of War 4, according to the official Xbox site.
As for the Halloween season, it wouldn’t be Gears of War without some kind of haunted celebration, so there is set to be a number of weapon skins, themed events and more coming our way as the holiday approaches.
