One of the most anticipated games for the PS4 this year is the continuation of the God Of War saga. But this time, it’s going to be set in a new land, with Kratos not only being older, but having a son by his side in Arteus. It’s going to be a truly new adventure, and the team at Santa Monica Studios are aiming to make this game truly special from the getgo, with no “extra baggage” coming later.
What do we mean by that? Well, a lot of AAA titles have a ton of DLC after launch, and this sometimes causes players to buy a Season Pass just so they can get everything, which can be a major hassle. But not God Of War! As the writer for the game went to Twitter to say:
No season pass. As for the story questions – you will have to wait and play the game to see how it all shakes out. I just finished another play-through last night around midnight and it was still awesome! I’m totally biased, though.

Yeah, he is a little biased, but it’s important that you like your own work. As a writer, I can appreciate that. And as a fan, I appreciate that the game won’t have a season pass. Ironically, the God Of War series was played during a time when DLC was still into its infancy, but the changing times seems to have not affected Santa Monica, and for that, fans can be grateful.
Moving onto the story, this one is said to be one of the longer games in the saga, which is good, as they need to introduce the Norse Gods, why Kratos is fighting them, and of course, showing off Kratos and Arteus together. The game is set to release later this year.
