As Overwatch fans here at MMOExaminer, we would like to wish Matt Mercer a very happy birthday.
Mercer is the voice behind the beloved offense hero Jess McCree, the Blizzard shooter’s very own John Wayne. The man behind one of the most recognized catchphrases in the game with “It’s High Noon” before McCree unleashes his ultimate, Mercer’s voicing talents go far beyond Overwatch.
In more recent times, he has voiced the likes of Deadshot in Injustice 2, Cor Leonis in Final Fantasy XV, Forteller Ira in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue as well as Ryoma, Chrom, Azama in Fire Emblem Heroes.
Other notable mentions include General Vezax, Halion, Captain Drok in the fellow Blizzard game World of Warcraft, Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil 6 and Kurtis Stryker in Mortal Kombat. Mercer has also contributed voices to the likes of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Destiny, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, League of Legends and many others. His work isn’t limited to video games either, appearing in anime shows such as One Piece, Sailor Moon, Attack on Titan and Naruto Shippuden to name a few, as well as other animated shows including Thundercats, Regular Show and DC Super Friends.
Many happy returns, Matt!
