Consistency is a word we sometimes take for granted. Yet, it’s very important to be consistent in many thing. This includes video games. As we want a game to be consistent in its gameplay, how it looks, how it sounds. We as players have a lot to think about, and the last thing we need is something odd to happen when it honestly shouldn’t. This notion is being brought up by Heroes of the Storm players.
Blizzard uses a special server called the PTR (Public Test Realm) to input upcoming content for players to test and see whether it’s ready for mass release. They also want players feedback on things they see. One player, KAMELOTIAN, noticed something odd with a new character called Lucio. However Lucio looks different when his track colors are shown. Typically, which a character heals in HOTS, the colors are green, and yet here, it’s yellow, which is very confusing to him, and to others.
Now this may seem like a small issue, but you have to remember, when every other character has things one way, then another character has it a different way, that can throw people for a loop. Especially since they’ve been seeing it one certain way for a long time.
When this was brought up on Battle.net, the reaction was mixed. On one hand, some were all for the changes, as it would make the game more consistent. However, many noted that this is similar to what is in Overwatch, which is where Lucio is from, and thus it’s fine that it’s like that.
So, who is right here? Should the track colors be more consistent? Or should they be allowed to be different depending on the characters in Heroes of the Storm? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
