Team Dignitas has announced the roster for their 2017 Heroes of the Storm team. For the most part, the organization decided to resign the whole team. The exception is Atheroangel, who was only a last-minute fill-in just before Blizzcon. Zaelia will join the team in his place in the role of Melee Assassin.
Heroes of the Storm: Team Dignitas
Team Dignitas is a name well known throughout esports, and their Heroes of the Storm team is no exception to the reputation. In 2016, they took home first place in four Premier level tournaments – the ESL Championship in Katowice, the ESL Championship in Leicester, DreamHack All-Stars Valencia, and the ESL Championship Gamescom.
They also finished fourth at Blizzcon, which the team credits in no small parts to the temporary stand-in that they found in Atheroangel. He is now a free agent, and the organization wishes him all the best.
Looking Toward 2017
In a short promotional video that accompanies the roster announcement, team captain Bakery expresses the team’s desire to take home the cup at Global. They hope this year’s roster, with only the one player change, will be the team that can do it.
Zaelia is a Danish player who recently played for team ExcelenteEleccion. His most recent first place finish with that team was the ZOTAC Heroes of the Storm Cup #59. The team placed second in their qualifier for ESL Gamescom, but only managed a fifth place finish in the main event.
Zaelia will join with Bakery, as well as Snitch, JayPL, and Mene, to try and bring Team Dignitas to the top. The 2017 regular season for Heroes of the Storm is set to begin on January 20th, in both Europe and North America.
