During Microsoft’s pre-Gamescom briefing, Jurassic World Evolution was announced, allowing players to build their own theme parks in the style of the classic movie.
The developers behind the game will be Frontier Developments, the team behind the space exploration simulator Elite Dangerous. Based around the island from the 2015 blockbuster movie, Jurassic World Evolution offers up a Rollercoaster Tycoon style experience, with the task to stop your prehistoric inhabitants escaping and eating your guests, whilst also managing personnel and facilities.

Frontier, who also brought about the Planet Coaster series to showcase their management sim experience, are looking forward to bringing a number of challenges to players. Frontier CCO Jonny Watts stated in a recent press release:
“Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when ‘life finds a way”
The game looks similar to Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, which released back in 2003. Players were tasked with building a recreated Jurassic Park, filled with amenities, guests, and most importantly, deadly prehistoric creatures. The game did well in terms of reviews, so a game of a similar nature is bound to do well if done right. Hopefully Jurassic World Evolution will be able to replicate and improve upon what made Operation Genesis so popular.
Jurassic World Evolution, which was announced as part of the Microsoft pre-Gamescom briefing, is set for release to coincide with the new movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in Summer 2018. The game will be coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
