The co-op zombie FPS Killing Floor 2 is available as of today, via Steam.
Killing Floor 2 All Out Mayhem
Set in a post-apocalyptic Europe, Killing Floor 2 lets players work together in teams of 6 to stop the zombie onslaught. Once things get moving, body parts go flying and there’s blood everywhere. The developers even promise entrails. That’s right, entrails.
Players choose their character and enter either solo or 6 player co-op modes. Then they are pitted against waves of zombie pawns with a “unique blend of killing tools.” These include standard issue military gear, makeshift weapons with some severe effects, and a few “Mad Scientist” items that are sure to amuse.
From the prequel, the perks system and the melee system have also been fleshed out. The perks allow players to customize their characters to match their individual combat style. Melee combat now has a variety of choices, allowing players to add a little flourish to their kills.
New 12 Player Versus Mode
There is also a new PvP mode where players can now take on the role of zombies and try to tear the other team apart. One game is split into two short matches so that each team of 6 players gets a chance to play as humans and as zombies. Teams are scored based on their performance in both matches and a winner is declared.
Killing Floor 2 is available now via Steam. So far, reviews are very positive. Tripwire Interactive developed and published the game. The regular price is US $29.99, but it will be 25% off until November 23. The Deluxe Edition, Six Pack and Complete Bundle are also on sale. There’s also a level editor, so players can make their own scenarios.
