Games take inspiration from every aspect of life. Sometimes though, they’re simply inspired by things that inspired the creators. Such is the case for Kingdom of Loot, the game by fans of 16-Bit ARPG during their hayday in the 90’s. So, they got together and decided to make one of their own. They’ve gone through the Square Enix Collective, and have even been Greenlit on Steam. But more than that, they’re aiming to make something even better than those RPG’s of the 90’s.
Kingdom of Loot will be much bigger, much improved, and arguably most importantly, it’ll be a full-on, free-to-play MMO. What are some of the features you ask? Well…how about: tier based class system with six basic classes and additional twelve hybrid classes, customizable character skins, dungeon crawler style loot system, item based paperdolling, gear upgrading and crafting, honour & reputation system, friendship & guild system, companions, event notification system, account wide stashing, real-time player ranking, 16-bit chip sound & music, singleplayer or co-op instances, cutscenes, gamepad support, runes system, instance based player housing, emotes, mounts, ships (air & sea), mini-games, modern HD screen resolution support, and a PvP Arena. Just for starters.
Furthermore, the team behind the game decided to show off more of the game via a Christmas video:
It reveals new trophies, new achievements, as well as a lot of gameplay, and how the game works in combat and other aspects.
The game is set to hit Early Access in April of 2017, so there’s likely to be more info about the game coming soon.
