Armello, a digital board game developed by Melbourne-based League of Geeks, is getting it’s largest update since it’s initial release.
Armello Art of Treason
One of the most common requests from Armello’s players is actually solidifying in this update, Art of Treason available November 18, 2016. Available for $4.99 US through Steam, the Board Pack features two new board skins that give the entire game a fresh new look. These are seasonal skins, one for autumn and one for spring.
The update will also add new cards, expand the bounty system, provide some UX updates, and other changes “still to be revealed.”
As a digital board game, Armello has enjoyed a warm reception by the community. It’s 2,500 Steam reviews rank Very Positive, and the game has been a finalist or recipient of various awards. It features a combination of “tactical card play, rich tabletop strategy and RPG elements.” The game was designed to be played with friends, but it’s also possible to play single-player.
Table-Top Style Gameplay
Players choose from 8 playable heroes and compete in a complex, table-top system set in a stylistic fairy-tale world. Game play takes place in “fuzzy turns,” with day and night cycles. “Fuzzy” turns means there are still actions that a player can take even when it’s not their turn.
The game also draws heavily on artistic talent. Different artists from around the world designed the animated cards, and the soundtrack (also available as a DLC) features the work of Australian musician Lisa Gerrard, among others.
Armello is a digital turn-based strategy digital board game, available across platforms. On Steam, the game is available for $19.99, with additional DLC. To celebrate the update, the game will be 30% off on Steam from November 18 to November 29. Art of Treason and the Season Board Skins Pack will be available on Steam for Windows and Mac on November 18. PS4 and Xbox One will see releases at a later date.
