This has truly become the year of delays. Between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild(formerly known as Zelda Wii U), No Man’s Sky, Final Fantasy XV, and perhaps the most guilty party of them all The Last Guardian, players are seemingly starting to adapt to the need for patience.
The Last Guardian has been one of the most anticipated video games of the past several years. Every time a trailer or some footage surfaced, the internet went into a frenzy. We were so close to a release date, when Sony confirmed that the game would in fact be coming in December instead.
I suppose at the end of almost a decade’s wait, another two months really can’t be that bad, right? The internet turned to death threats for Final Fantasy and No Man’s Sky so hopefully, we’ll have a collectively more rational reaction to this one.
Thankfully, the game is most definitely in its final development stages. This delay is likely for the sake of some polish and bug fixes, so it will probably be the final delay that this game sees.
The Last Guardian, originally announced at E3 2009, will finally see its release on December 6th of this year. The game will launch exclusively on PlayStation 4.
