Ahri is one of the best current mid lane champions in League of Legends, so we decided to give you newbies out there a quick guide.
The nine-tailed fox champion Ahri in League of Legends revolves around magical abilities and she is a great choice for Mid Lane play. Ahri comes with both damaging and CC abilities, and her Charm skill, that both damages and draws your target towards you, is a great way to get your foe damaged by the tower or prevent them from fleeing.
Ahri Ideal Skill Order
For unlocking and upgrading skills, you will want to start with Orb of Deception, which sends out an orb that returns to Ahri, damaging anyone in its way. This should be followed by her Charm skill, which you can use to weaken your Mid Lane opponent. Thirdly, you should probably unlock Fox-Fire, which auto-targets nearby enemies and deals 40/65/90/115/140 (+40% Ability Power) damage to them by sending out three fox-fires. For the next two levels, you should probably improve Orb of Deception, and once done you will then be able to unlock Spirit Rush. This ultimate skill should be used wisely, as you might end up in a tight situation if you choose the wrong destination. Follow the skill order below.
Summary of skill unlock order: Q > E > W > Q > Q > R > Q > W > Q > W > R > W > W > E > E > R > E > E
Ideal Items to Get
For starting items, you will want to pick Doran’s Ring, which will give you a decent amount of mana regen, ability power and HP. You can also go with The Dark Seal, that will boost your mana pool and your AP when getting champion kills or assists. You will want to target the Morellonomicon as your first item to obtain. This will greatly increase your damage output with increased AP and cooldown reduction. Getting kills will also restore some mana. After that, you can go for either Luden’s Echo or if you want a speed boost first, you can purchase Sorcerer’s Shoes. Luden’s Echo will once again boost your damage, and will also provide you with some extra movement speed. If you feel a bit squishy, you can go for Rlyai’s Crystal Scepter next, which will give you 300 HP, 75 extra AP and will also help you slow down your enemies. You can also choose to buy Banshee’s Veil first, which will provide you with some more cooldown reduction, 60 magic resist and a spell shield that can block an enemy’s ability. Both of these will increase your chances of surviving, but Rlyai’s Crystal Scepter will aid you more in catching fleeing champions. Lastly, you can go for either Rabadon’s Deathcap, which will give you a massive damage boost, the Void Staff which gives you some extra magic penetration, or if you are dying too much, you might want to grab Liandry’s Torment.
Summary for item purchase order: Doran's Ring (+ Health pots) > Morellonomicon > Luden's Echo / Sorcerer's Shoes > Rlyai's Crystal Scepter / Banshee's Veil > Rabadon's Deathcap / Void Staff / Liandry's Torment
The ideal Summoner Spells for Ahri are probably Flash and Ignite, as for Runes, you will want to boost AP, Magic Resist, HP and Magic Penetration. Ahri is simply awesome for Mid Lane and you will have a great time countering champions like Brand, Lucian, Azir or Cassiopeia. However, Ahri also has some superior foes, such as Akali, Ashe and Warwick, not to mention Annie.
The nine-tailed fox is really an enjoyable champion to play in League of Legends, and if done right, you will have great success in tackling the mid lane. Your Charm ability will allow you to troll some tower attackers or prevent them from fleeing. She has great mobility (like that of an assassin champion), a decent amount of damage output and her 3x dash can get you plenty of killing blows. GL, HF on the mid lane.
