Playing with your friends and demolishing waves of robots sounds fun right? Well if it does then we have great news for you! Livelock, a cooperative top-down shooter, has been given a release date. Tuque Games have announced that the game will launch on August 2nd, 2016, for the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
There is a shortage of top-down shooters right now, but this one seems rather interesting.
The graphics look pretty amazing, and that helps since most of the time you’ll be looking at tons of explosions at the screen. You can play with 2 friends max as there are 3 classes in the game. The arsenal and the classes themselves are customizable to provide a unique experience for everyone.
Let us start with the big bulky Vanguard, who is best suited for close combat. Wielding an enormous hammer, Vanguard players will mostly act as tanks, soaking up most of the damage. He also deals quite some damage, spinning around with his hammer like a furious tornado, tearing apart everything he comes in contact with.
Next up on the list is Catalyst, the support character with an army of drones at her disposal. Her drones do most of the work, providing shields that deflect bullets and causing smaller black holes that suck up the enemy and hold them in one place for a time. Her pulse launcher, which is sort of like grenade launcher packs some damage, so she isn’t lacking in that either.
The last class is called Hex. He is the sassy robot who serves as the DPS class. Most of his skills are focused on either keeping him alive or doing more damage. His Ultra Velocity skill is what gives him huge mobility, allowing him to dash around the battlefield while dishing out huge amounts of damage. Calling in Orbital Strikes is also one of his abilities, and there is nothing more awesome than a huge laser coming from the sky to obliterate your foes!
The trailer explains everything and it should help you decide whether you want to grind other robots to dust with your own.
