Mages of Mystralia is an action-adventure game in which you design your own custom spells to progress. Because of that, the developer of the game, Borealys Games, has begun to make a series of videos to explain all about the spellcrafting system. First, is a video that introduces how the basics of how the spell system works.
But, what is Mages of Mystralia? More specifically? Well, in the kingdom of Mystralia, it takes more brains than brawn to succeed as you’ll find out. There are giants and powerful creatures that you will have to fight, as well as navigate treacherous terrain. Then, there are puzzles that confound even the wisest of the old sages in the land. You must overcome obstacles put in place by people who do not want you to succeed.
So yeah, your path will not be easy. In the game, you play as Zia, a young girl who discovers that she has been born with an innate sense of magic. But…magic has been banned, so you strike off to train on your own to gain some control over your powers. Along the way, you’ll meet other exiled mages and, discovers runes with magical properties and realize that you can combine these runes in millions of different ways to come up with completely new spells.
There is a lot of good people working on Mages of Mystralia. For example, the story was written by bestselling author Ed Greenwood, as well as an original orchestral score conducted by Shota Nakama and performed by the Video Game Orchestra at SoundtRec Boston of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts fame.
The game is still in development, but, you can put it on your Steam Wishlist if you want. Mages of Mystralia will be coming to PS4 and Steam in Spring 2017.
