You can probably find some, as although Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an absolutely amazing game, it’s not 100% perfect (or is it?). But, you can also head over to the game’s Steam Store page and you will find a myriad of positive reviews, with people praising the world, the characters, the writing, the freedom the game offers, and many other aspects of this RPG. But, does Divinity: Original Sin 2 deserve all this praise that it’s getting? Yes, it most certainly does, so let us explain why people are loving Larian Studios’ latest title.
There are so many things that make the game stunningly great, but if we had to choose the best aspect of Divinity: Original Sin 2, it would probably be its world. This is how an RPG should pull you in, with a huge world that is filled with all sorts of mysteries and dangers that lure you in and just make you keep playing for hours and hours until you finally manage to complete that one quest that you’ve been doing for 5 hours now. But then you realise that you’ve entered a brand new area filled with even more interesting NPCs that will send you on even more quests with new enemies to talk to or fight, new friends to meet, and maybe some secret treasures to discover. To no one’s surprise, a game this big is going to have lots of bugs, but the developers are working swiftly to fix as many as they can, as we saw when we talked about the 3.0.143.148 patch.
The appeal of this RPG resides in its ability to suck you into its world, and once you start your journey, every hour will turn into a minute, a day will turn into an hour, and just like that, you’re going to spend a month in the epic world of Rivellon. The choices that you get in this game are also vast, and by giving you loads of options each time you speak to someone, you can’t help but get immersed, and that feeling is something that all RPGs should give to their players. Now, some of you might be thinking: “But if there are tons and tons of options in the game, wouldn’t some of them be boring?”, and that is a valid concern, but the writing quality for this game is absolutely top-notch, and Larian Studios have written all of these characters in really unique and interesting ways.
The greatest strength of Divinity: Original Sin 2 is how it hooks you in with this enormous world full of things to interact with or explore, and just your curiosity alone will drive you to keep doing quests, keep unraveling secrets, keep playing the game until you’ve remembered that you haven’t eaten anything for the past three hours. Once you get hooked on this experience, you can’t stop, and we suggest you play the game, and if you’re an RPG fan, this is a must-buy.
