One of the sad things about video games is that just because a game is announced, doesn’t mean it’s going to be coming out in a timely manner. After all, things happen, and priorities change, team changes happen, or even studios close down. But sometimes games that are intriguing just disappear for a while, and there’s no explanation as to why. This is what happened with Media Molecule and their game Dreams. Despite a flashy and inspired debut, they soon vanished without a trace.
Dreams was originally shown at E3 2015. That’s right, over two years ago, and it really blew people away with its beautiful imagery, and the promise of creativity that only the team at Media Molecule could deliver. And yet, two years later, the game has been MIA, and even the beta that was promised for it has been delayed. Thankfully though, the team went to Twitter and noted that both they and Dreams are returning:

So, it appears we’ll be getting a new and updated look at Dreams very soon, as PSX is only a month away at the time of this writing. It’ll be interesting to see how it looks compared to when we saw it two years ago.
If you don’t remember, Dreams is going to be a platforming game where you solve puzzles by creating items. You can also take over characters to complete levels. But the real fun is that you can create your own worlds that will resemble paintings. Heck, you can even sketch your friends if you wanted.
How much of this will still be there though? Guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
