Video games aren’t just defined by the games themselves, but by the characters that inhabit the worlds. In fact, behind most great franchises is a main character or two that embody what the franchise means in full. Back in the original days of gaming, one of the greatest characters out there was Mega Man. The blue bomber starred in many titles, some even being made to this day, but for many, the original 8-bit games were the best among them. Capcom recently honored those gamers by bringing the Mega Man Legacy Collection to gamers, and now, they’re doing it again with Mega Man Legacy Collection 2.
This collection brings the latter games in the original Mega Man series to the fold. With Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man 9, and Mega Man 10 being in this special collection. What makes this interesting is that 7 and 8 were released in the 90’s, while 9 and 10 were both released within the last 10 years. Showing that though time may pass, some styles are timeless.
All of these titles faithfully recreate the original games, but also add their own special twists to them. For example, you can expect modes that’ll play towards veteran Mega Man gamers, or help out new players who aren’t used to the difficult gameplay the series is known for.
However, there are also fresh takes on the games as well, there are challenge modes that actually remix the levels so that you can face new challenges in them! Or, if you’re feeling nostalgic, you can participate in the museum that has art spanning the series that’ll give you an in-depth look at how these games came to be.
No matter what way you slice it, Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 brings a lot for longtime fans or new fans to enjoy. These are classic titles, and now they’re all in one place! Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 comes to Xbox One, PS4, and PC on August 8th.
