Monster Hunter is one of the most popular franchises in Japan currently. Its large worlds and brutal difficulty have entranced all who play it there. But, Capcom also wants the games to be a major franchise in the rest of the world, and so, they’ve been making ports of the games and bringing them here. But, with their next title, Monster Hunter: World, they’re aiming to appeal to both Eastern and Western gamers all at once. And a big way to help prove they’re doing that is by releasing a beta for the game.
But, this is a very exclusive beta. It’s not just for the PS4 alone, but for PS Plus members. So if you want a piece of the action, you’ll need to make sure you have a PS Plus subscription before the beta starts. As for what the beta will be like, Capcom detailed it on their site.
The beta will start on December 9th (giving you plenty of time to get things in order should you want to join it), and will end on December 12th. As for content, the game’s beta will feature two open environments, as well as three quests that you can do. While that may seem “light” in terms of content, it’s actually the opposite. The bosses here range from “beginner-friendly” to a true challenge, so don’t take them lightly.
Also, the environments of the game are huge, and the beta will let you explore a good section of them, so you’ll see just how smooth the game really is.
As if that wasn’t enough, all quests can be done solo or in groups of three. If you’re not sure if you’re ready to take on the world, the beta also provides a Training room for you to hone your skills in before going out.
