It seems game developer and publisher NCSoft pays a lot of attention to children’s lives in Korea as the company’s CEO has decided to dedicate 50 billion kwon to various projects related to education for the next 3 years. NCSoft celebrated its 20th anniversary this year.
Kim Taek-Jin will donate to various projects that deal with educational programs for children and exploring their creativities. According to ThisGame, NCSoft “held a board meeting on September 22”, where they came up with a “social contribution” plan. The company aims to create opportunities for children to make use of their creative skills and receive the right kind of education. These educational programs will be freely accessible.
The plan also strives to aid underprivileged children whose potential skills go to waste. Kim Taek-Jin added, “I want to contribute to creating a society that can achieve various dreams.” By the end of 2020, NCSoft will donate 50 billion kwon, which is approximately $44.1 million, to the NCsoft Cultural Foundation that will cooperate with various partners in order to achieve the educational improvement. The program strives to improve on various educational fields, such as arts, technology, science and mathematics.
Kim Taek-jin’s approach is admirable, and he has expressed multiple times, that he would like to aid children in receiving the education they deserve. Hopefully, other game developing giants will also follow in his path.
