It has been quite the weekend for the community website NeoGAF, particularly for site owner Tyler “EvilLore” Malka. As we reported previously, NeoGAF was closed down over the weekend over allegations of sexual harassment against Malka, which saw the site go dark. The site is now back up and running, and as you can imagine, all is far from well.
Shortly after NeoGAF went live, the board was flooded with topics in response to Malka’s statement. Check out a few screengrabs (courtesy of Kotaku) from topics that were then taken down:

Malka claims these accusations are false in his statement, with an excerpt stating:
“It’s not true, the individual making the accusation isn’t credible, the story doesn’t reconcile logically with the facts, and there’s plenty of evidence and witnesses to corroborate that.”
These events has seen the ‘Off-topic’ discussion segment of the site removed, which has often been a hotbed of controversy and anger-fuelled debate in the past. This announcement came in a statement from the mods, who will be banning all topics on politics going forward:
Political and social discourse will not be allowed in the new Off-Topic. Those types of discussions greatly added to the harsh and unwelcoming atmosphere of Off-Topic, which pushed many users away.
Even as we speak, there are threads going up regarding the situation faster than the moderators can take them down. Either way, it doesn’t look like it is going to be dying down anytime soon. If you would like to see the full statement from Tyler Malka, you can do so here.
