No, you didn’t read that wrong, we did say that there’s a Kickstarter out there for a game on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It may not seem logical, but people have done this before, making games for consoles that are long since dead. It’s a way for them to build upon the gaming legacy that they were a part of as kids or teenagers, as well as a fun challenge to make it work. So, what is Full Quiet?
As the team notes, it’s unlike anything both the team has done before, or anything that has been done on the NES, which is saying something. The game is meant to test you, and push you in fun and interesting ways, and that’s before even noting what the story of Full Quiet is itself. It’s a simple tale to be fair, one of a father who finds out that something has taken his son into the nearby forest. Now, he must go get him back, at any cost.
But the forest is dangerous in many ways, there are creatures and lost mysteries in this forest, and you must be prepared for all of it. However, there are some kind things in the forest, so don’t be too hasty to blast everything in sight. You’ll explore the forest, solve puzzles and mysteries along the way, craft new weapons, upgrade your character, and so much more.
The team is working hard to ensure that this the pinnacle of experiences that you can have on the NES (and on PC). They’re creating a three-dimensional world within game using the console via tricks they’ve learned along the way. This game will be massive, but it will also be polished.
Full Quiet has already reached its funding goal; in fact it’s doubled it! And there’s still a month to get more money, so if you’re interested, go and pledge to it.
