Netmarble Games confirmed back in May that they would publish the release of Icarus M, after signing a publishing contract to bring the MMORPG to the mobile platform. Developed by WeMade IO, Icarus M will be copyrighted worldwide by Netmarble, including in Korea.
Icarus M is based around the world view of Icarus, which boasts a stronger user base in both domestic and foregin territories, based on an online game released back in 2014. It features high-quality graphics thanks to Unreal Engine 4, with players enjoying real-time combat with fellow users.
Netmarble vice president Baek Young-hoon commented: “As Icarus Online is responding well to North America and Europe, we will work together to build a close partnership so that we can achieve success in Korea and in the world.”
“I am very excited about the contract between Netmarble and Icarus M, which is the best global publisher, and I will concentrate on developing it for a successful service.”
Icarus M is based on Icarus Online, or as its known in the west, Riders of Icarus. It presents an exhilarating take on the MMORPG genre, bringing fast-paced mounted combat in a breathtaking fantasy world. Players will be tasked with working together to take on both airbourne and ground-based threats. The ever-expanding world constantly challenges its players to uncover secrets and much more in a vast and majestic setting. Players can also choose between hundreds of mounts, including everything from bears to dragons to ride into battle with, as well as a unique melee combat system and a plethora of challenges to face.
