Another day, another developer giving fans details on something they wanted to know. In this case, the game is Neverwinter, and the topic is about Dungeon Chest Rewards. Something fans have been asking for changes on for some time.
Right off the bat, the team reveals that the dungeon chest Reward table changes for the current endgame Epic dungeon key, as well as the Campaign key chests have been rebuilt. The intent for this is to give out rewards more varied and more often. This applies to all the endgame PVE rewards.
Furthermore, they have significantly increased the chances of the very rarest rewards (Artifacts, Legendary Rings), they acknowledge that this will likely lower the price of some items at the Auction House, but believe that players getting this quickly was a more fair option. To be clear, these items are still very rare, however, they’re now at least a little more obtainable than they were before.
And now, there’s a chance to get one of the new dungeon-specific items, and a chance to get a random artifact, artifact equipment, companion, mount, or miscellaneous item that is taken from an extremely large list of existing items from throughout the history of Neverwinter.
Very importantly, there will be a greater chance to get these items in dungeons, skirmishes, or trials that take longer to complete. So, the more you do, and the more you play, the much more likely something rare, or something you don’t have, will come out.
A note, items that are tied to a specific task will not be available in drops, as that would defeat the purpose of the task or quest you would go on to get said item.
Finally, the team unveiled a “useful items” bag, where you can prioritize the items you actually care for, and thus don’t have to rummage around your inventory just to find one item. So, are you pleased with these changes to Neverwinter? Let us know in the comments below!
