It’s been about two months since the launch of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. Despite being the third expansion in a single year, it would seem that the next card set is already underway. Lost Secrets of Un’Goro appears to be the next expansion, according to the resume of Lani Minella, who voices numerous minions within Hearthstone.
Her resume on her website currently lists her as doing numerous voices for an expansion by this title. Popular Hearthstone YouTuber Disguised Toast has made a speculation video connecting elements from the resume with content from World of Warcraft and has drawn a pretty strong parallel that suggests that the next expansion will be dinosaur themed.
Dinosaurs being beast cards means that the Hunter class might be seeing a major shift. Cited in Toast’s video is that Hunter is currently the least played class in the entire game. This was the case for Priest during One Night in Karazhan, but Mean Streets of Gadgetzan validated a few pre-existing Priest decks.
If you’ve been playing Hearthstone since the beginning, you probably realize that there have been more recent expansions than usual. This is likely a result of the shift to Standard which cycles out cards from previous sets. In the next cycle, we’ll lose Blackrock Mountain as well as The Grand Tournament which will eliminate numerous decks from play. Most dragons will no longer be playable.
