Leaks and rumors are meant to be taken with a grain of salt. However, if done right, and enough of what you’ve given is right, or at least somewhat accurate, then people will learn to trust you, and have less salt when they hear what you have to say. One such leaker is Laura Kate, who apparently has a good record when it comes to leaking content from Nintendo. This includes the Nintendo Switch, of which she has been leaking for quite a while. Last night, she did a Reddit AMA, and was asked a bunch of questions about the Nintendo Switch. Here are some of the highlights of what she said.
She believes that two third party titles will be exclusive games at launch. One of them will possibly be the rumored Mario/Rabbids title. She thinks Retro Games’ new project won’t be talked about at the event in January, which would be sad, as they’ve been at work on a title for a while with no new details.
Though most features of the Switch are known Kate thinks there are a few surprises left for the January event, which is possible, as the controller has been documented (via photos) to have buttons that have not been talked about.
She expects one “unexpected new IP” to be shown at the January event, while the new Mario game will be playable at the various preview & press events that are to follow. Kate also is party of the group that has heard that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild won’t be available at launch. Finally, Monolith Soft is working on a new game, which she says is not a remake/port, but rather the next title in the new Xenoblade Chronicles line. As a fan of Xenoblade Chronicles X, I hope this is true.
Again, all of this should be taken with a bit of salt, but we won’t know what’s fact, or what’s fiction, until the January 12th event, or even until E3 in some cases.
