With the Blizzard shooter Overwatch having such a vast and ever-growing roster of heroes, coupled with the loot box system in place, it offers up incentive for players to continue to play the game in order to unlock customizations for their desired character. However, given its popularity, there is always bound to be players reaching such heights that they have unlocked everything that is possibly available.
This is often appeased by the seasonal events that pop up throughout the year to bring more skins and whatnot, but there are for sure those out there who have everything they could possibly get their hands on, and desire even more.
With that in mind, game director Jeff Kaplan took to the game’s official forums to answer the question of when new items would be coming. When the question was asked, he responded:
We have a ton of new content coming. Not only are there some really awesome items coming for upcoming events, early next year we’ll be adding *a lot* of new items to the base loot box.
You don’t have long to wait!
This wasn’t enough to appease some fans, with some questioning if the content Kaplan is referring to would be skins for the Overwatch League. However, papa Jeff soon put minds at rest on that note:
OWL Skins are something different entirely. More information will be coming from the League soon.
So there you have it. Not only are we to expect something to indulge in when the holidays roll around next month, but we will also be treated to plentiful new content in the new year to go along with it.
