When we first saw Chris Redfield make his return to the survival horror franchise in Resident Evil 7 this year, many fans were sceptical as to whether it was actually the long-running protagonist. It was seemingly confirmed that it actually was him when the credits rolled, but now there may been evidence to support the theory that it could well be a fake Redfield after all.
The latest trailer centres around the character, in what appears to be Pete from the paranormal documentary show Sewer Gators, which first appears at the start of the base game. In the trailer, which you can check out below, sees Pete showing viewers a number of clips from other Not a Hero trailers.
He also reminds us that Redfield is supposed to be a hero, not working for the antagonistic Umbrella Corporation, before revealing a piece of paper at the end which seemingly shows Redfield before being cut off mid-sentence, questioning if it’s potentially the same person.
There’s no way of knowing for sure until we play the DLC when it releases next month. But if anything, this latest trailer is going to fuel the theory that it isn’t Chris Redfield, and could be an impostor or some form of clone. Who knows? Hopefully we all will next month when the content comes out.
Resident Evil 7 biohazard is now available on PC, Xbox One and PS4, with a release also being planned for Nintendo Switch. Meanwhile, the Not a Hero DLC will release on December 12th, 2017.
