Heroes of the Storm just got a new round of bans and account suspensions! Players who received this are the ones who go AFK often, refuse to participate in taking objectives or such things, and players who intentionally feed during the matches.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as MOBAs get these kinds of things quite often, because of large player bases, and well, a lot of people do these kinds of things often, so disciplinary measures are an absolute must.
This was expected considering that an announcement was made earlier this year that Blizzard started banning players for negative behavior in-game. Since then a ban wave occurs ever two weeks to improve the health of the community, since toxic players really hurt matches and the overall experience of the game. A lot of accounts have been banned since then, and more will be, since MOBA players tend to be, well, angry people, especially if they’re losing. The people who got banned are those who’s in-game data obviously shows a constant lack of contribution in the matches that they’ve played. The accounts suspended/banned were closely examined to determine if they were truly toxic or not, so there were no innocent players on the ban list. In-game reports were also taken in consideration, which helped a lot.
Further examination is always being carried out to constantly remove “toxic” players, which is a long, ongoing process. So, Heroes of the Storm players, try not be toxic, as you could end up banned or suspended and you don’t want that. No one wants that!
