The reboot of the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise was met with both applause and criticism. On one hand, the game looked amazing, and offered some very interesting gameplay situations. However, there wasn’t a story mode, and players felt limited in other ways as well. Because of this EA/DICE have worked very hard to make Star Wars: Battlefront II everything fans want and more, and if the latest video showing off the game is to be believed, they’ll have done that in spades.
Narrated by Jon Boyega (Finn from the new Star Wars films), the video shows off just how much the game has grown from its predecessor. For example, there are over 3x as many locations to battle in, double the number of classic heroes you can play as, and triple the number of vehicles you can drive. That’s a lot. And of course, Battlefront II brings back the Class gameplay that the original titles have, with each class having their own special skills and abilities that players can use to try and turn the tide of battle.
A new feature though is the battle points. The better you do in battle, the more points you get, and when you have enough, you can call in backup to ensure you have an even greater edge in battle. This applies to all battles, whether you’re on the ground, or in the air, and these points will also allow you to summon heroes, or hero ships.
The Star Cards system has also been revamped, you can collect them via crates, or build them after you get enough parts. Try and get the highest tier card and you’ll see even greater boosts in battle.
Add all of this to the diverse multiplayer mode, and the custom-made singleplayer mode which chronicles the fall of the Empire and the rise of the First Order, and you know that Star Wars: Battlefront II will be much greater than the original.
The game releases on November 17th.
