Blizzard has announced that the next patch for their MOBA title Heroes of the Storm has arrived to the Public Test Realm. Players can test out the updates in the Public Test Realm between now and December 12th. Players who encounter bugs during test play are kindly encouraged to visit the PTR bug report forum.
Heroes of the Storm Winter Veil 2016
The Winter Veil 2016 celebration this year features a 25% experience bonus for a limited time. The bonus begins at 10 AM PST on Wednesday, December 14th. It will last all the way until 10 AM PST on Tuesday, January 4th, 2017.
For the same duration, players that play 25 games in any matchmaking mode will be rewarded with a Special Snowflake Portrait and a Festive Treasure Goblin Mount.
Blizzard is adding a new hero to the game in this upcoming patch. Ragnaros, lord of fire elementals, wants nothing more “than to burn the world to ash.” Be sure to see the official patch notes for the details on this new hero.
This patch looks to be covering a lot of ground. There are re-calibrations for Season 3 in terms of matchmaking and party size. The Haunted Mines battleground is getting an overhaul. The heroes Artanis, Dehaka, and Diablo are all getting updated visual effects. Certain abilities are getting new animations. There are changes to the shop and the game’s interface. There are also balance tweaks across many of the playable heroes. For the full details, see Blizzard’s patch notes.
Heroes of the Storm is, as Blizzard calls it, an online hero brawler, utilizing characters from other titles within the portfolio of the immensely successful game developer, such as Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch. Look for the patch to be released in the next couple of weeks.
