The Nintendo Switch is easily one of the most talked about items in the back half of this year. If not the whole year entirely. For it first started off as the “secret console project” of Nintendo, nicknamed the “NX”. As rumors and possibilities began to swirl, the hype and anticipation for any news about the console reached a fever pitch. Then, we got the reveal, and the world talked anew about the Nintendo Switch.
Now, as the new year dawns, and the console release in March gets ever closer, some aren’t waiting to advertise. As an astute Reddit user, Meelow100 found out that an Australian store already has ads up for the new console. Now, while it’s true that no “new” info can be derived from these ads, as they even use the stock images that were given out by the reveal, it’s still interesting that this is happening.
This no doubt will just add more hype to the upcoming digital event focused on the Nintendo Switch. It is here that all details about the console will be revealed. Not only that though, but also the games we can look forward to both at launch, and in the upcoming months.
Nintendo has promised that it has learned from its mistakes with the Wii U, and even in the early stages of the Wii. They state that the games won’t be as “sparced out” and big name titles are coming. The big question for many is what the “killer app” at launch will be. Many think it may be Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but rumors state that it may get delayed to the summer, allowing the untitled Mario Switch game (which was confirmed during the initial reveal) to take its place.
Regardless, all will hopefully be revealed in a few weeks when the digital event happens on January 12th.
