I feel like I’ve written something to the tune of eight articles about this enigmatic nightmare of a console. The Nintendo NX, in October, still has yet to have been unveiled, while the console is slated for a Q1 2017 release. This could be indicative of an impending delay, but a Nintendo of Europe employee by the name of Ulysse Richert-Botte has disclosed on the Nintendo Developer forums that the console will indeed still be announced this year.
Rumors have been bubbling to the surface quite a bit over the past few months. Whether it be the game’s supposed pricing, or what games will be available at launch, consumers, press, and developers alike simply can’t stop talking about the Nintendo NX.
As of right now it can be gathered that the one consistency throughout all of these rumors relates to the console being a hybrid, incorporating elements of a handheld. If this is the case we can expect some very interesting game ideas to come from it. Nintendo always seems to push the envelope as much as possible.
Once again, it seems we’re left to the guessing game. Here’s to hoping Nintendo approaches this with some more clarity in the coming weeks.
