Kickstarter allows for all kinds of games to be brought to life, even ones that’re meant to scare you in every way possible. Organ Quarter is a VR survival horror game that is meant to be a callback to the original horror video game titles of the 90’s. Such as the original Resident Evil. The twist though, is that the game will feature VR that’s perfectly scaled to you.
What does that do? Well, it’ll give you a very “intimate” experience in regards to the horrors that’ll take place literally all around you. For now, the scares aren’t just “around the corner”, they can literally be around the corner.
For the team behind Organ Quarter, they wanted to make this game feel both modern and classic. There will be maze-like areas for you to explore, resources that you have to manage well, else you’ll die, and puzzle solving that’ll be not too easy, yet not brutal in its difficulty. Not only that, they want to make a compelling world for you to enjoy, and then get scared in.
As for the story, it is a little cliche. Your city has been infected by something awful, and you are one of the lone survivors of it. You’ve been in your apartment for weeks before being lure out by someone called Dr. Alset. Now, you must explore your former home and figure out what happened, as well as survive what comes.
The goal of the Kickstarter for the team is to get this game made and released between July and August. They don’t want to promise a firm date because they know things can happen in development. Also, once the VR side of the game is done, they’ll work on a non-VR build as well.
Organ Quarter is seeking $6500 on Kickstarter, and has $900 already raised. If you’re looking to get scared, then you should go check it out by clicking here.
