A recent survey conducted in Overwatch, which was put to 10,013 responders, has revealed some rather interesting statistics regarding the game, particularly the most played hero.
It’s worth noting that it isn’t representative of the entire Overwatch player base, though it does give a decent indication of those who frequent popular social media platforms such as Reddit. If you didn’t manage to take part in this particular survey then not to worry, there will be more to come.
According to the survey, rather predictably Mercy is the most played hero, with 15.4% of the votes. This was closely followed by Lucio in second place with 11.3%, with D.Va coming in third at 8.3%. As for the least played hero, Torbjorn sits in last place at 0.5%. As for players’ favorite hero, the highest percentage was 9.7% which showed that players didn’t necessarily have a favorite and chose their character based on what the team needed, whilst Zenyatta followed this up at 6.9%. As for last place, this went to Bastion as the least favorite, who came in at a lowly 1%.
The survey also conjured up some other stats of interest. For example, 84.8% of the players who took part were male, with 13.06% being female, and 0.6% being non-binary. It also stated that out of the females who took part, a rather alarming 41.6% had been subjected to or witnessed sexist abuse in the game.
