Online stores are a central hub for many, as they give you access to a lot. For video games, things like the Nintendo eShop, the PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live are a vital part of the gaming experience. So when one goes down, and there’s no indication as to why, people panic. This is what is currently happening with the PlayStation Network and its fans.
This all started when fans tried to log into PSN, and were told they needed to change their password, which happens sometimes. But what doesn’t happen, is that when they ask for the email to reset the password, and the email doesn’t come. It’s supposed to take seconds, minutes max, not hours or longer.
A Reddit thread showed just how widespread the problem is, with multiple people in both various states in the US and countries around the world relaying that they are suffering from this problem. But also, that when it does come back up, it’s not in a perfect state. One stated that though the system was back, the lag was terrible.
Yet, as of 15 minutes ago at the time of this writing, the problem still persists, with no word from Sony as to what is going on and why. Now yes, we can all assume this will be fixed within a reasonable amount of time. But, the fact that this is happening all over, with no word from Sony saying this was intentional, or that it was a planned maintenance? That’s what’s raising eyebrows.
Have you had problems getting into the PlayStation Network over the last 24 hours? If so, let us know!
