Pokemon had a pretty good year in 2017. The series launched the next version of the anime, focusing on Sun and Moon. Various mobile games featuring the franchise were released, with most of them having great success. On the 3DS, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon released to good sales numbers. And arguably the biggest thing, a Switch core game was announced by Nintendo just before E3. So yeah, it was a very big year, with a lot of good things happening. But, what will be good for this year?
Well, leave it to Nintendo and the Pokemon Company to decide to do something…legendary. For starting in February, if you have Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, or Ultra Moon, you’ll have the ability to get a free legendary Pokemon every single month. That’s, from February until November, you’ll get one of the most powerful creatures from the various regions…for free. In fact, here’s how it breaks down.
- February: Dialga or Palkia
- March: Regigigas or Heatran
- April: Raikou or Entei
- May: Xerneas or Yveltal
- June: Zygarde (with three distinct Forms)
- July: Tornadus or Thundurus
- August: Groudon or Kyogre
- September: Latios or Latias
- October: Reshiram or Zekrom
- November: Ho-Oh or Lugia
That’s quite a lineup, don’t you think? I personally see a lot of my favorites on that list, including Lugia from Johto! Which ones are your favorites?
Oh, but don’t think the legendary fun stops there, the Shuffle game is going to get some new event stages featuring Palkia and Dialga. And the Pokemon TV app will be releasing films starring some of the legendaries starting next month! So it’s a legendary party that’s going to last all year! Or…most of the year, that is.
So don’t miss out on this, and something tells us that as the year continues that more special news will be coming.
