Pokemon Go is still a massive game despite a decline in initial popularity and the recent mess that was Pokemon Go Fest. Today, the developers confirmed a new update for the pocket-monster catching mobile game that brings a huge quality of life change. Much like the recommendation in our “10 Ways Pokemon Go Could Be Way Better” article, Pokemon Go will now allow players to see how many people are preparing for a raid battle before using a raid pass.
This news means that people will be able to decide whether or not to participate in a raid based on how many people are currently preparing to battle. No longer will there be guess work in raiding. Not only that, but the new update will also allow players who use Pokemon Go Plus accessories to spin photo discs at gyms. Previously, Plus accessories only spun regular stops. The update will also improve the Pokemon Collection screen “by allowing Trainers to search through their Pokémon’s moves using the @ character.”
As far as this new raid feature goes, it isn’t exactly what we had in mind here at MMOexaminer, but it’s still a step in the right direction. I would still personally prefer a “check-in” system where no players had to use a Raid Pass but could still check in to signal their interest in participating in a raid. However, this new update will at least keep some players from wasting their passes.
The game is said to currently be “in the process”of updating so players will be seeing these changes relatively soon.
