EVO is perhaps the largest fighting game event of the year, and despite its importance to the world of eSports, one of the bigger launches of the year, Pokken Tournament, will not be playable at the big event.
While the Pokemon fighting game neared the top of standings in the official Player’s Choice game, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 shot ahead, with the fundraiser generating $71,690 on behalf of the Make A Wish foundation. That only includes the donations for Marvel vs Capcom of course. The entire fundraiser gathered over $100,000 for the organization dedicated to helping children.
We’ll see quite a few familiar faces at this year’s EVO event however, with titles like Super Smash Bros Melee and Super Smash Bros. For Wii U. There will also be Tekken 7, Injustice 2, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, and many more action packed fighting games when the event takes place this July.
For those who don’t know, Pokken Tournament is a fighting game in the vain of Tekken, which incorporates the beloved characters of the Pokemon franchise and incorporates elements of traditional action games. The game is set in a 3D space and allows players to choose from fan favorites and execute incredibly combo attacks and unique special moves.
