For fans of the Power Rangers series, they’ve enjoyed a TV show that has spanned generations, and over 22 seasons. They have been ninjas, rescue heroes (yes, I know that’s another franchise, roll with it!), from the future, from the past, imbued with powers, and much much more. But for all who claim to know the franchise, you have to know where it started. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. And now, they’re back.
Saban is hoping that lightning will strike twice for his franchise, as he’s bringing a modern take on the show that started it all. This movie version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers will still have Jason, Zack, Billy, Kimberly, and Trini, but in a much more “real” feel in regards to it being 2017, and how much the world has changed since the 1990s.
A few months back, a teaser trailer for the film was shown, and it showed the five “teenagers with attitude” in what you might call the “prologue” of their story. About how they came together before they were Rangers. But now, the rest of the story is being told via a brand new trailer…
Yep, it’s Morphin Time! And whether you agree or disagree with this film being made, you have to admit that parts of it look really cool. The updated Command Center, Bryan Cranston as Zordon, and even the Power Rangers suits, which now don’t feel so odd since their original still that unveiled the “modern” armor looks.
Also shown in this trailer was the Zords, Alpha 5, more shots of Rita, and a freaking large Goldar…fighting the Megazord.
This may be their destiny, but this movie may be our honor to watch when it arrives in theaters March 24th.
