Rainbow Six Siege has been teasing the next wave of its DLC, starting with Operation Velvet Shell. But the team at Ubisoft haven’t been too forthcoming with the details…until now.
Ubisoft has revealed, and confirmed, that Operation Velvet Shell will introduce two G.E.O. Operators that will become a part of Team Rainbow to protect civilians on the new Coastline map. This map is free, and is set in Ibiza, Spain. The story here is that the authorities have gotten an anonymous tip, and are asking for help to protect the people of Spain. The G.E.O was actually founded after the events of the Munich Olympics and was a key part of Spain’s transition to democracy.
The Operators’ unique ability will be revealed during the upcoming Six Invitational. However, R6 Scriptwriter Farah Brixi talked about what inspired the look and personality of the new operators. They wanted to show how Spain’s special operations would assign a role to each officer. One that would reflect their skills, as well as how they would handle a situation. So thus, they created the Jackal. They wanted to “warn” the enemy, that if the Jackal was chosen on the team, they had a target right on them.
The inspirations for the Jackal Operator was Ryad Ramirez Al-Hassar. Who was a real-life G.E.O operator. Thus lending some more realism to Rainbow Six Siege. His primary weapons are the C7E and PDW9, with ITA 12S and USP 40 as secondary weapons.
The Six Invitations will be held on February 3rd, and give new info on the G.E.O Operators that are joining you in Operation Velvet Shell.
