There are many anticipated games coming out this year, and like many games, there’s a desire to mimic what other leading games are doing to enhance your own experience. For example, if a new gameplay mechanic is revealed to be good in the eyes of gamers, why not replicate that? Well, Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming out this October, and it’s bringing enhanced graphics, a new story, and a lot more. But rumors are that there’s more to this than even we imagine.
This rumor comes from Trusted Reviews, who apparently learned about certain gameplay features that Red Dead Redemption 2 would have, but couldn’t verify it at the time. But now, via the announcement of the release date and other factors, they feel it’s right to share some of it.
So, here’s the breakdown of much of what they’re saying is going to be in the game when it releases.
- Multiplayer modes: Battle Royale, Revive and Survive, Money Grab
- GTA online style apartments return in the form of camping tents
- Companion app to launch alongside the game
- Main campaign and multiplayer fully playable in 1st person
- Eagle Eye is returning – edit: article calls it Eagle Eye, but is probably Dead Eye
- Fishing as a side activity
Some of these honestly shouldn’t be a surprise, and yet, the Battle Royale idea is very much that, a surprise. After all, that’s the bread and butter of games like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite, so why is it here? Now, for the record, it’s possible that this will be a smaller scale version compared to the other two, it’s unclear at present though.
And, obviously, since Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed this themselves, this could be mostly, partly, or entirely, wrong. We’ll just have to see for ourselves when Red Dead Redemption 2 comes to Xbox One and PS4 on October 26th.
