One of the hardest things to do is wait for the sequel to something you loved, especially when it’s a video game and it takes years to make. Or, you think it deserves the sequel treatment but you aren’t sure if the developer will see it that way in a quick amount of time. Such was the case for the original Red Dead Redemption, as it was lauded by everyone who played it, but a sequel just never seemed to come. But now, this year, Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming.
But…it’s not exactly soon. As Rockstar Games revealed today that the game is coming out on October 26. Yep, basically nine months away. Here’s what they had to say about this:
“We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
It’s understandable that the game would need extra time to polish. After all, the game looks beautiful, and it features an open-world just like the original, so they’ll want to check everything a couple times (or couple hundred times) to make sure that there’s no major bugs or glitches. And though the wait is long, the team has promised that things will be revealed soon:
“We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”
Coming weeks sounds promising, and the screenshots they shared (which you can view on the link above) prove just how good this game is going to look.
