A fun thing that developers like to do in video games is bring in little things from other titles that don’t necessarily belong, but are too cool not to put in. Capcom recently did this with Dead Rising numerous times, including giving Frank West actual outfits of Capcom characters. Naughty Dog put a newspaper depicting the events of The Last Of Us in Uncharted 3. Rockstar Games isn’t above this either, as their games sometimes have callouts to other games. And dataminers have found out that their latest callout is for their upcoming game Red Dead Redemption 2.
You see, GTA Online just got a new DLC expansion called The Doomsday Heist, where a group of people must save the world from an over-the-top “end of the world” type plot by an evil organization. Yeah, it’s as crazy as it sounds, and that was the intent. But, as dataminers went through the files, they found something that appears to tie into Red Dead Redemption 2.

Apparently, this is for some kind of treasure hunt, and if you get it, you’ll a special revolver, one that, as found out in further datamining, will be unlockable not just in GTA Online, but in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Now, Rockstar Games has confirmed or denied this as of yet. But, if it does go through, that would be a really cool crossover.
