In preparation for the upcoming Darkest Dungeon DLC, “The Crimson Court”, developing studio Red Hook is looking for a professional QA tester.
One of the most successful Steam Early Access stories, Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based dungeon crawling RPG developed and published by Red Hook Studios. With a unique dark fantasy style, the title puts the player in charge of restoring an estate left as heritage by a wealthy relative. Trouble is, the place is crawling with all kinds of fiends due to the explorations conducted by said relative. The player has to their disposal the help of villagers and a plethora of traveling heroes with varied sets of skills. It’s a harsh game that could be easily described as the Dark Souls of turn-based RPGs.
Darkest Dungeon‘s first DLC, “The Crimson Court,” will introduce vampires to the award-winning indie game. To help bring players a satisfactory experience, Red Hook has decided to open a job position for a QA (quality assurance) tester, a person in charge of trying out the new features and reporting any problems to the developers. Although the premise sounds like what Early Access is supposed to be, the QA tester would work full-time on providing feedback, having a direct line of contact with Red Hook.
The position is for a paid 3-month contract where the employee will receive per hour worked depending on experience. As mentioned, the tester will be working closely with the developers, testing Darkest Dungeon’s DLC in different environments and platforms, and delivering timely reports directly to Red Hook.
Candidates must have experience playing Darkest Dungeon, working knowledge of the platforms the game is available on (with knowledge of extra platforms being a plus), experience with previous QA testing and tracking down issues, and strong communication skills. Moreover, it’s possible to work remotely, but applicants must be able to work within Pacific time zone business hours.
Darkest Dungeon is a turn-based RPG with management and dungeon crawler elements available for Windows PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. For more information on the job position, please refer to the game’s official website.
