Revelation Online is an MMORPG that players should really keep an eye out for and the popularity of the second CBT phase seems to back this statement. Let’s take a look at why this particular game could be a hit in 2017.
Revelation Online is a Chinese MMORPG that brings together many traditional elements and adds some new features to them, that many current titles lack. The first CBT phase already showed us that the game has plenty of potential, although it kind of felt like more of an alpha phase. This was mainly due to the large amount of untranslated Russian and Chinese text and voiceovers.
My.com, the current western publisher of the game, has fixed many of these since the aforementioned first CBT phase, and now that Revelation Online is hosting the second closed-beta testing, the MMORPG feels a lot more polished. The play style clearly reminds us of titles like Blade & Soul, Aion, Bless Online and perhaps even Age of Wushu. However, the classes seem quite unique, and not just the usual mage, warrior, assassin, hunter… copy-paste template, but something far more complex. The Reaper class, for example, seems like a really innovational one, that fuses your average Warlock-like class, with a hybrid support/healer.
It is hard to say for now, whether Revelation Online will be a truly worthy competitor of the current MMORPG giants in the western regions, but we can already say that the game is heading towards possible success, and time will tell whether it can also compete with the soon-arriving Bless Online from Aeria Games as well as other upcoming ones. Publisher my.com will hopefully make the best of the Chinese MMORPG and not end up releasing yet another temporary game that players toss away after a few weeks of leveling.
