League of Legends players know how toxic it is to play against Galio, The Colossus. You heard us, we said toxic, as you don’t even have to flame or feed or troll when you’re playing this champion as everyone automatically gets angry when they see his Q take out half of your HP, even if you’re playing a tanky champion. Well, he is finally getting some well-deserved adjustments, and by that, we mean that his Q is getting nerfed.
The power of this champion comes mostly from his Q, which a ranged ability, it deals quite a lot of damage, and it zones the enemy as it leaves behind an AoE field that deals damage. His initial Q dealt 130 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 (+ 60% AP) (+ 3% per 100 AP of target’s maximum health) magic damage to his enemies, so they toned down the AP Ration of the ability to 0.8 from 0.9, and the Max Health Ratio is now 1% per 100 AP from 3% per 100 AP. You think you wouldn’t see Galio going full damage in your games, but when you consider that you can one-shot any midlaner in the mid-to-late game, then you realize something. He does a truckton of damage. If he lands two or three Qs during the laning phase, you pretty much have to go back to base to heal or risk getting hit with his E+Q+auttotack rotation. Then he procs Thunderlord’s Decree and your screen quickly fades to gray.
Thanks to his insane AP Ration, by building a couple of AP items in the midgame you’re able to blow up your midlaner with ease. Especially if you’re playing against an immobile mage, as once you land your E you just slap them around with your Passive and fire off a Q and they are dead on the spot. Then you factor in that this ability does % Max HP damage as well, which means that even tanks aren’t safe from Galio’s wrath. Certain players think that this change is going to kill his role of a tank that deals a lot of AP damage, but this is definitely a needed change.
