Some things never change, but for games like Overwatch, you hope that things do change if they’re bad enough, or in the terms of balancing too overpowered or too underpowered. This is a constant problem it seems for the game, as with the vast roster (which recently got an addition via the robot named Orisa) there’s always a potential for one character to be so overpowered it “breaks the game”, or, there’s a character who’s so weak that it’s pointless to play as them, no matter how much you may love them. For many, Overwatch’s most OP character is Roadhog.
We’ve actually written many times about Roadhog here, as players have complained about just how powerful he is. A recent patch seemed to turn his power back a little, but it didn’t take long for someone to find another reason that he is OP. The latest complaint comes from Battle.net user Zenith, who notes that both Roadhogs left button and right button attacks are way too powerful and have too high a potential for one-hit kills.
“The dev favoritism with this character is just running rampant…”
To prove this, he listed off the only other characters in the game that have the potential for one-hit kills, and each one has a flaw or exploit that can be used to make sure it doesn’t kill you, but for Roadhog, there’s no real block. Or at least, not to him.
The rest of Overwatch Battle.net community weren’t so sure about whether Roadhog is still overpowered. Some vehemently denied what Zenith said, and stated that other characters have more OP powers than him, or that Zenith was overexaggerating. Some though were in agreement with him, and ironically, some were happy Roadhog players.
“I regularly one shot characters with my left click even without the hook. Its wonderful,” said player Bustar.
