A brand new update has been announced for the immensely popular soccer car indie hit Rocket League, which was revealed on stage at the RLCS Season Three World Championship. Marking the end of Competitive Season 4 and going into Season 5, developers Psyonix are bringing a number of new additions to the game, which will roll out on July 5th.
Releasing back on July 7th, 2015, Rocket League will be marking its second anniversary with a brand new standard arena called ‘Champions Field’, which aims to commemorate the spirit of competition found within the game, sporting a statue branding the trademark logo, as well as triple-decker seating and plentiful lighting.
The anniversary also sees the introduction of the new Overdrive Crate, as well as each rank rewarding a new Trail. The Overdrive Crate boasts two new Battle-Cars including the Animus GP and the Centio V17, as well as a variety of new Wheels, Decals and other Black Market items. As for Trails, which will be available once the update goes live, these will see you reaching top speeds, which can replace your usual trail with a new Seasonal Reward Trail. Custom Trails are also planned to be rolled out in the future, so keep an eye out for any further updates.
The report on the official Rocket League website states that there is still more additional content to come over the next month or so, which will see new soundtrack features, an updated audio system, and new achievements and trophies for players to unlock.
