The hopeful MMORPG Ship of Heroes may have canceled its Kickstarter last month, but it’s still going strong in production with the hope of reaching a playable Alpha by the end of the year. To keep people excited, they’re releasing a string of videos to highlight some of the things you can expect from their sci-fi superhero game. The latest video shows off the mission maps of the game, which are meant to prove just how sci-fi the game is and not just a superhero MMORPG.
This is the first time that parts of the ship of Ship of Heroes, also known as the F.H.S. Justice, are being shown, and the art style of the ship has been changed in many ways to better reflect its home base of Apothesis City. The game is being built via the Unreal Engine 4, and it’s through this engine that the team hopes to not only have the best textures for their models, but complex lighting, SFX, and even the models of the characters looking as good as they can be. They want Ship of Heroes to shine when it is finished, and they hope that this engine will assist with that.
Another thing the team notes is that though this is a sci-fi superhero game, the physics of the title are meant to be as realistic as possible. Now yes, you’ll still be able to do a lot of non-science things, but, at its core, Ship of Heroes will be bound by the laws of physics.
Another big reveal was that instanced content has been asked for a lot by players. This means that they’ll be able to do missions regardless of what other players are doing, and the dev team hopes to make it so players can make their own missions when the game launches.
