Shroud of the Avatar is one of the many games that is funded by the community. There is an active community of gamers that want this title made and want to play it early so that they can help make it great. The team behind the game are reciprocating that by giving players not only a lot of freedom in the game, but giving them areas all their own to run and show off. They often make posts to show off these places in the form of Community Spotlights.
The latest Community Spotlight is for the player-owned town called Port Phoenix. One of the devs tells a story of their time in the town as they travel through the land. What’s immediately apparent to them is the beauty and tranquility of Port Phoenix at nighttime.
Once morning came, they spotted the Capitol Building, which is actually a meeting area for the entire “Republic Alliance.” This is made up of many groups and Guilds, and has many items to show off the groups in it. Plus, as the dev notes, the alliance has been in effect for three years, and there was a party going on to celebrate it.
What’s more, not only does the alliance respect each other, they respect their fallen with memorials that are honored in the highest regard. That doesn’t mean that they don’t know how to have fun, as there is a stage in the area that showcases some live entertainment.
For those wanting to know about shops, Main Street is the place you’ll want to go to. It’s a street lined with shops and vendors that have items of every variety. Apparently, some people got lost in the shops because there’s so much to see and buy.
And of course there’s a bar, an inn, and many other places to explore in Port Phoenix, and all over Shroud of the Avatar.
